Interpersonal Skills

A child's social and emotional development has a significant impact on social functioning, education and employment success. If social and emotional development is fostered at a young age, children are more likely to adapt into a school environment, work co-operatively, confidently and independently and to behave appropriately.

ICC will help to develop the skills that children learn through their peer relationships such as assertiveness, conflict management, how to earn respect and how to control aggression. Research also indicates that interaction with peers provides children with important opportunities to discuss feelings, expand thought processes and knowledge, and experiment with language and social roles.

We feel childhood friendships provide kids with much more than just play. Learning to make friends is an important part of a child's social development. Social skills that will help them find success in both their personal and professional lives.
